EVER SINCE I WAS YOUNG, I HAVE BEEN FASCINATED WITH HUMANS AND OUR BRAINS.

I remember sitting in an introductory psychology course at the beginning of my undergraduate experience and thinking “Aha! This is the field for me.”

There was something unbelievably grounding in learning that humans do things and feel things for reasons that make sense, a sentiment that I often repeat to my clients today.

After many years of experience in the mental health field, I noticed the observable absence of sex-related themes in therapy. I received little to no formal training in how to normalize sex and sexuality in a therapeutic environment, which mimicked the messaging I had often received in our overall sex negative culture.

After becoming involved in local sex positive and kink affirming spaces, it was clear to me that sex positivity did not degrade our value as we are often told, but instead has the power to enhance our identities and lives.

ACKNOWLEDGING THIS LACK OF SEX POSITIVE MENTAL HEALTH CARE, IN 2020 I OPENED UP MY PRIVATE PRACTICE AS A SEX POSITIVE TRAUMA THERAPIST.

Being a Sex Positive Trauma Therapist means I get to bring together the affirming power of sex positivity with my experience as a trauma informed specialist to help clients create meaningful positive change in their lives.
